Privacy policy
Last updated 18 October 2026
This policy explains what information TheWeddingInvite.app handles when you build an invitation, share it, or reply to one, why we need it, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain words.
The short version
- While you build your invitation, your draft is saved in your own browser, on your device.
- We count visits with Google Analytics to learn which pages and designs help couples. We never send it your names, your messages, your email address or anything about your guests.
- Visitors in Europe and the UK are asked before any analytics cookies are set.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not show ads.
What you tell us
Couples. The details you add to your invitation: your names, your families if you include them, dates, venues, events, your story, photos and the music you choose. While you build, these stay in your browser on your device. When you publish, your invitation is stored so that your guests can open it at your link.
At checkout. Your email address, for your receipt and for messages about your invitation. Card details go straight to our payment provider and never reach us.
Contact form. Your names, email address, wedding date, tradition and message. We use them only to reply to you and to help with your invitation.
Guests. When a guest replies to an invitation, we handle their name, whether they are coming, how many people, which events, and any song request or note. Replies are for the couple who invited them. We do not use them for anything else.
What we collect automatically
Analytics. On theweddinginvite.app we use Google Analytics, through Firebase, to count visits and see how the site is used: the pages viewed, the buttons used, the designs chosen and the steps taken in the editor. Google also records your browser and device type and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. We do not send it anything you type. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Hosting. Our host, Vercel, processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when they load.
Your browser. We save some things in your browser's own storage: your draft, your invitation once published, your cookie choice and the details of a message you sent us. They stay on your device, and you can remove them at any time by clearing your browser's data for this site.
How long we keep it
- Drafts in your browser stay until you clear them.
- A published invitation is kept while it is live. You can ask us to take it down and delete it at any time.
- Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
- Messages you send us are kept for as long as we need them to help you.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. You can withdraw your consent to analytics at any time. We reply within 30 days.
If you are in Europe or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority. If you are in India, you can raise a grievance with us under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, and we will respond within the time it sets.
Keeping it safe
The whole site is served over a secure connection, and we give the services we use only what they need. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us at once if you think something is wrong.
Where it is processed
The services we use may process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, they protect it with standard contractual safeguards.
Children
TheWeddingInvite.app is for people planning a wedding and is not meant for children under 16.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will tell couples with a published invitation by email before it takes effect.
Something unclear, or a request about your information? Contact us and a real person will reply within two days.
